The BOOK IT! Program motivates children to read by rewarding their reading accomplishments with praise, recognition and pizza.
A literacy activity that encourages parents to participate, BOOK IT! was created in 1985 and has since grown to 22 million students strong. Locally, Hallrich Incorporated has supplied nearly $10,000,000 in free pizzas to students through BOOK IT! rewards.
Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.

So nice to see the "Book It" program is still being offered to children! My 3 daughters (now 28, 31 and 34) are grown now but when they were young they were rewarded with MANY wonderful Pizza Hut Pizzas. My 2 older daughters LOVED to read but the youngest just wasn't interested UNTIL she saw the reward for reading a book. The program is an outstanding motivational tool to encourage children to read for learning and/or plain old enjoyment! It still is a wonderful childhood memory for our entire family.

The Book It program was great for my son! That is what encouraged him to start reading more. He started out with all of the Dr. Seuss books, then moved on to The Little Tree House collection. He still loves to go to the library and pick out books that he can read all by himself and it all started with the Book It program. Thanks Pizza Hut!

My nephew, now 32 years old, interrupted a family wedding many years ago to show me the BookIt button he earned. He was so proud. Today, he and his children are all avid readers.
